2010 Municipal Voting Information
Decisions are made by those who show up, so please show up to the polls on Election Day - Monday, October 25, 2010.
Who Can Vote?
You are qualified to vote in a Newmarket municipal election if you are:

A Canadian citizen AND
-
At least 18 years-old AND
-
A resident who lives in Newmarket OR
-
A non-resident who lives outside of Newmarket but who is, or whose spouse is, an owner or a tenant of land in Newmarket AND
-
Not prohibited from voting under any law.
NOTE: You can only vote ONCE in the Newmarket municipal election regardless of how many properties you own or pay rent in Newmarket.

The following are not allowed to vote in a Newmarket municipal election:

Anyone serving a sentence in a prison

Anyone acting as a representative for someone else, except as a Proxy Voter

Anyone convicted of a corrupt election practice within the last 5 years

A corporation
