My name is Joe Fiorini and I have known Dave White for over 10 years through his volunteer coaching for the Newmarket Minor Hockey Association. In these years he has been an assistant coach and certified trainer, and more recently the head coach of my son’s team. Throughout this time Dave has shown me what a passionate and dedicated person he is to the children on his teams. Being a community coach for over 20 years myself, I can certainly appreciate the time and effort that volunteers like Dave spend on behalf of our children. Without people like Dave there would be no hockey, soccer or baseball leagues for our children to enjoy.

As parents we rely so much on the people we trust with our children and Dave White has certainly delivered for the boys and girls that have played for him. Dave has been more than a coach to my son; he has been a teacher, mentor and the type of role model we parents hope for and truly appreciate when we find them. He is certainly passionate about the sport of hockey and works extremely hard to have the all the players develop their skills to their full potential. It makes no difference whether they are the weakest or the strongest player, Dave and his staff work with all the players equally. Like most of us, Dave enjoys competition and winning but at the same time his integrity and focus on fair play and team work have provided life lessons for my son that will serve him throughout his life.

While I’ve known him, Dave has also served the community as an adviser and board member at the Newmarket Soccer Club, coached for the Newmarket Baseball Association and is a driving force for the Huron Heights Football Booster Club, where he is part of a team that raises funds for the school to help control costs for the players and get them much needed practice time and equipment. Couple all of this community work with the fact that he also runs his own business in Newmarket, and it becomes clear how extremely organized and committed Dave is.
